BARDon the Interruption continues with some incredible Round 3 re-caps, and Episode Two of the Shakespeare on Digital podcast is now live!
The Drama
In a stunning twist that we still can’t wrap our heads around, one of the winning monologues from Round 3 (“I Would Not Be Thy Executioner”) has REJECTED the choice of the people and given its place in the semi-finals to “Unsex Me Here.” Is this legal in the competition? Is this morally right? We have no idea. All we know is, it’s happening. It’s the Wild West out here, everyone.
We were blown away by the level of engagement this competition has garnered. Round Three featured over 4,000 votes, yet every single matchup was close - and two of them were decided by a single vote! “The Pap of Pyramus” and “It Is The Cause,” two heavy underdogs coming into the quarterfinals, shocked “How Am I Then a Villain” and “Blow, Winds,” respectively.
Upcoming Awards
We’re also shocked by the level of creativity and quality brought to these videos. Every round, the actors step their games up even more. We’re excited to announce that BARDon the Interruption is going to do a special award presentation for the entire competition (and from the looks of it, “Best Candle Video” and “Best Cat Video” are going to have to be categories).
On the Podcasst
The BTI podcast is joined by Chris Harding (“How Am I Then a Villain?”) to lament his Round 3 loss, throw out some conspiracy theories, highlight some of his favorite videos thus far in the competition, and react to the “Unsex Me Here” controversy.
