Henry V

Performed on March 9th, 2020

From the team that brought you Henry IV Parts 1 and 2, we launch our 2020 season with the thrilling conclusion to the trilogy, Henry V.

Queen Henry IV is dead. Reformed party boy Hal is King. With England in a state of turmoil, he must leave his rebellious youth behind, gather his troops, and fight for a war with France in the hopes that he can unite his divided country. Prepare for battle, groundlings!

Much Ado About Nothing

Much Ado About Nothing

The war is ended, the soldiers come home from the trenches, and memories of war give way to a life of endless parties and drunken soirées. The young Claudio and Hero fall madly in love, while worldly Benedick and fiery Beatrice reignite their own “merry war” of words and wit. Luckily, their matchmaking friends have a plan to bring the two rivals together.

Caesar

Julius Caesar

Shakespeare's epic political thriller tells the story of the conspiracy against Caesar, his assassination and the defeat of his conspirators. As the race to claim the empire spirals out of control, political factions fight for power amid contentious debate regarding honor, patriotism, and mob mentality.

P.S. Register to vote in 2020, groundlings!

Winter's Tale

THE WINTER’S TALE

Romance. Death. Disguise. Estrangement. Dildos. The most famous Shakespearean stage direction ever (“Exit, pursued by a bear”).

In one of Shakespeare’s more bizarre works, Leontes rips his family apart with his jealousy but grief opens his heart. Will he find the child he abandoned before it is too late?

Midsummer

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

*Groundling’s Choice Selection for 2020!*

Four young lovers flee from the angry rulers of Athens to the seeming shelter of an enchanted forest…only to find themselves amdist the chaos of the fairy King and Queen’s marital feud, some amateur actors rehearsing a (really bad) play, and a mischievous fairy named Puck up to shenanigans with the help of a magic flower.
